Selling to Carrefour France: how to get listed

Updated:

In short

Carrefour is France's second-largest grocery retailer, with 22% of household FMCG spending and 6,766 stores, most of them small proximity shops. Unlike Leclerc, Intermarché and U, it is a listed company with integrated and franchised stores. Since the 2026 negotiations it buys with Coopérative U and the German group RTG International through Concordis, a Brussels-based alliance. Own brands are 38% of its food sales, so own-brand tenders are a major route in.

How Carrefour buys

  • Concordis: a European buying alliance of Carrefour, Coopérative U and RTG International, a German group that negotiates for retailers including Rossmann, Globus, Bartels-Langness, Bünting and tegut. It is based in Brussels and operational for the 2026 negotiations. Carrefour and U together hold about 34% of French grocery (Echos Plus, 8 Jul 2025; Zonebourse, 13 Aug 2025; Carrefour, 17 Feb 2026).
  • Under review: the competition authority opened a review of Concordis in January 2026; third parties could comment until 31 July 2026 (Autorité de la concurrence, 9 Jan 2026).
  • Formats: hypermarkets, supermarkets and proximity stores, integrated or franchised. A record 456 proximity stores opened in 2025 (Carrefour, 17 Feb 2026).
  • Former Cora and Match stores are now integrated, including loyalty and IT (Carrefour, 17 Feb 2026).

Getting listed at Carrefour

  • No public supplier form: we did not find a "devenir fournisseur" page or form for France on Carrefour's sites. National brands negotiate with Carrefour's buyers and, for the largest suppliers, Concordis.
  • Local products: Carrefour sells local products from producers within 80 km of the store (Carrefour.fr). The page gives no contact for new producers, so start with the store or the regional team.
  • Deadlines: agreements must be signed before 1 March (31 January from the 2027 round for suppliers under €350 million). See our France guide.
