Selling to Volg: how to get listed

Updated:

In short

Volg is the village-store network of the fenaco farmers' cooperative, with 593 Volg stores, 121 TopShops at Agrola filling stations and 193 independent stores it supplies, mostly under the Prima banner. Suppliers apply through an online form on volg.ch. Small local producers have their own door: the “Feins vom Dorf” label, which lists products only in the store of their own or a neighbouring village.

How Volg buys

  • Volg Konsumwaren AG in Oberwinterthur (fenaco group) buys centrally and supplies the stores, and acts as wholesaler for independent retailers through the Prima partner concept (Volg; Prima).
  • Store operators: the 593 Volg stores are run by Volg Detailhandels AG (352), LANDI cooperatives (208) and private retailers (33) (Volg annual report 2025, p. 11).
  • Logistics: stores order even small quantities of most fresh products every day from three distribution centres (Volg, Jun 2025).

Getting listed at Volg

Volg has an open supplier form on volg.ch where you enter your company, your offer and up to three files (offer, certificates, photos). Only complete submissions are handled (Volg suppliers).

Feins vom Dorf, the local route

  • Launched in 2005; more than 10,000 specialties from more than 3,000 producers in about 600 stores (Volg, Aug 2025).
  • Products come from the store's own or a neighbouring village, so every store's range is different (Feins vom Dorf).
  • About 3,000 local Feins vom Dorf suppliers deliver straight to the stores, not through the distribution centres. Since autumn 2025 the LoSo (“local ranges”) platform has run in all Volg stores and handles their ordering, delivery and invoicing (Volg annual report 2025, p. 9).
  • A Feins vom Dorf day is held in every store each year; the ninth in a row was on 30 August 2025 (Volg, Aug 2025).
