Selling to Auchan France: how to get listed

In short

Auchan is France's fifth-largest grocery group, but it is shrinking and changing shape. Its French sales were about €16.4 billion in 2025 and its market share is falling. From October 2026 to May 2027, 167 Auchan supermarkets become Intermarché or Netto franchises, 17 more may go to Lidl and 72 were already sold to Mousquetaires store owners. Auchan buys with Intermarché and Casino through the Aura alliance. For suppliers, Auchan hypermarkets remain the core account; the converted supermarkets move into the Intermarché world.

How Auchan buys

Aura Retail: a ten-year buying alliance of Intermarché, Auchan and Casino, formed in autumn 2024 (Echos Plus, 8 Jul 2025). The competition authority opened a review of Aura in January 2026 (Autorité de la concurrence, 9 Jan 2026). At European level, Aura belongs to Everest, an Amsterdam-based buying group with Edeka and Picnic that negotiates with the largest multinational suppliers (LSA).
Supermarkets to Intermarché and Netto: 167 supermarkets in mainland France (excluding Corsica) will run as Intermarché or Netto franchises, held in A+Super, a company owned by Auchan Retail (Auchan Retail, 6 Jul 2026). The competition authority cleared the deal without conditions on 6 July 2026 (Autorité de la concurrence, 6 Jul 2026). About 40 stores started converting on 1 October 2026; about 80 should be done by the end of 2026 and the rest by May 2027 (Europe Business News, 4 Oct 2026).
Supermarkets to Lidl: exclusive talks to sell 17 supermarkets, announced on 24 September 2026. With this, each of the 266 integrated supermarkets in the plan has a solution, with no closures announced (Auchan Retail, 24 Sep 2026). The full split: 164 supermarkets in A+Super (the clearance covered 167), 72 already sold to Mousquetaires store owners, 17 to Lidl and 13 kept directly by Auchan (ICI, 24 Sep 2026).
Hypermarkets: Auchan keeps reworking its hypermarkets, for example Marseille La Valentine, reopened in a smaller format on 29 June 2026 (Auchan Retail).

Getting listed at Auchan

No public supplier form: we did not find a "devenir fournisseur" page on auchan-retail.com or auchan.fr. Auchan Retail's contact page only lists customer service and a head-office postal address in Villeneuve d'Ascq. National brands negotiate with Auchan's buyers and, for the largest suppliers, through Aura.
