Selling to Lidl Switzerland: how to get listed

Updated:

In short

Lidl Switzerland is growing fast (clear sales growth in fiscal year 2025, with organic sales up 11%), with more than 190 stores today and a target of about 300 by 2035. It buys from Weinfelden TG, where category managers coordinate with Lidl's international purchasing. More than half of its sales are Swiss products, it works with about 300 Swiss suppliers, and its new Swiss own brand Qualité Suisse already has more than 400 products: an opening for Swiss producers.

How Lidl Switzerland buys

  • Where: head office and buying in Weinfelden TG; distribution centres in Weinfelden and Sévaz (Lidl, about us; Lidl).
  • Who: category managers analyse and develop the range, negotiate with suppliers, develop products, plan volumes and coordinate with Lidl's international purchasing organisation (Category Manager job ad, 7 Oct 2026). How Lidl buys in Germany: Selling to Lidl Germany.

Getting listed at Lidl Switzerland

  • Contact: Lidl links to a "Kontakt für Lieferanten" form from its legal and compliance pages (Lidl compliance).
  • Swiss producers: the Qualité Suisse own brand (launched May 2025 with more than 400 products) and the "klein aber fein" programme for small local producers (since 2015) are the clearest openings (Lidl, Qualité Suisse launch; lidl.ch, Qualité Suisse; Lidl, Swiss products).
  • Small producers: "klein aber fein" has a public application form. The process has four steps: fill in the form and send it with five samples of your product; Lidl's purchasing and quality management review the products; purchasing agrees terms and volumes with you; the "klein aber fein" promotion starts and the products go on sale (Lidl, klein aber fein).
  • Standards: suppliers are bound by Lidl's Code of Conduct; own-brand suppliers also by its Sustainable Purchasing Policy. In risky non-food and near-food supply chains, T1 producers must show recognised certifications: SA8000, amfori BSCI, SMETA 4-pillar or ILO Better Work for social standards, and environmental audits such as ISO 14001, BEPI, Higg FEM or STeP (Lidl supply-chain report FY25).
  • Logistics: suppliers deliver shelf-ready pallets and cartons (Lidl).
