In short

Gruppo VéGé is a group of 32 independent Italian retail companies with 3,605 stores and €16.28 billion in sales. It is Italy's number four by market share and has grown for twelve years in a row. VéGé negotiates framework terms and joint promotions centrally, but each member company runs its own banners and chooses its suppliers. Many members are regional retailers. You need both the central agreement and the member companies.

How VéGé buys

  • Centre: VéGé negotiates framework purchase terms and plans joint promotions. It does not normally buy and resell the goods (AGCM bulletin 6/2026).
  • Aicube 4.0: the buying centre VéGé formed with Carrefour Italia in 2021 ended at its scheduled expiry on 31 December 2023 and was not renewed (ESM Magazine, 7 Jul 2023); the competition authority now lists VéGé on its own (AGCM bulletin 6/2026). Carrefour Italia was bought by NewPrinces on 1 December 2025 and is returning to the GS name (Distribuzione Moderna, 11 Jul 2026).
  • International: since 2018 VéGé sits on the international central purchasing committee of Spain's Gruppo IFA (VéGé alliances).
  • Member companies: each member's distribution centre (ce.di.) handles sourcing, negotiates further and sets its own supplier choice and promotions, e.g. Apulia Distribuzione in Puglia (AGCM bulletin 6/2026).

Getting listed at VéGé

  • Contact: we could not find a supplier page or form on gruppovege.it.
  • Two levels: agree framework terms centrally, then present to each member company you want, because each one chooses its suppliers (AGCM bulletin 6/2026).
  • Data sharing: VéGé shares sales data with brand suppliers through its VéGé Data Sharing platform (VéGé, 3 Jul 2026). Version 5.0 was presented to 750 brand suppliers in November 2025 (Il Sole 24 Ore, 21 Nov 2025).
  • Where it grows: 2026 focus regions include Campania, Sicily, Veneto, Lombardy, Piedmont, Apulia and Basilicata (Il Sole 24 Ore, 21 Nov 2025).
