Selling to Coop Italia: how to get listed

Updated:

In short

Coop is Italy's network of consumer cooperatives, owned by 6.2 million members. It ranks third by market share. Coop Italia is the national consortium that buys for the system and develops the Coop own brand, which sells more than €3.5 billion. Decisions are highly centralised, so the national negotiation is key. The large regional cooperatives, such as Coop Alleanza 3.0, also work with many local suppliers. We could not find a public "become a supplier" page.

How Coop buys

  • Central: Coop Italia is the system's central purchasing body (Coop Alleanza 3.0 booklet 2026). The competition authority describes Coop's decision-making as highly centralised, like Conad's (AGCM bulletin 6/2026).
  • Regional: the cooperatives run their stores and distribution centres and also buy locally. Coop Alleanza 3.0 had 2,445 goods suppliers in 2025, of which 1,510 came from its own territories (Coop Alleanza 3.0 booklet 2026).

Getting listed at Coop

  • Contact: we could not find a public supplier page or form for Coop Italia.
  • National brands and own brand: the route runs through Coop Italia, which negotiates for the system and manages the Coop own brand (Coop Alleanza 3.0 booklet 2026).
  • Local products: regional cooperatives work with many local suppliers, so a regional cooperative can be a realistic first door for a local producer (Coop Alleanza 3.0 booklet 2026).
