How Spar Austria buys

Where: head office in Salzburg, where all major strategic decisions are made. Six regional head offices (Dornbirn, Wörgl, Marchtrenk, St. Pölten, Graz, Maria Saal) serve and supply the stores in their region (Spar company page).
Who: on the management board, Markus Kaser (deputy chairman) is responsible for marketing, purchasing and IT (Spar company page).
Independent merchants: 565 Spar merchants run their own stores. After taking over 25 former Unimarkt sites (20 run by merchants, 5 now Spar's own stores), Spar expects 585 merchants (Spar, 12 Mar 2026; Leadersnet, 22 Dec 2025).
