Promotional baseline
The sales a product would have made in a period without a promotion.
Why it matters
Uplift is measured against the baseline. If the baseline is wrong, every promotion looks better or worse than it really was.
Example
A product normally sells 1,000 units a week. During a promotion week it sells 2,500, so the uplift is 1,500 units, or 150%.
